Bowling Green, OH - Storm Water BMP Information

This project proposes designing and installing multiple rain gardens to serve as a demonstration project at a central fire station in Bowling Green. These rain gardens will serve as filters for the parking lot runoff and as short term detention areas designed to increase infiltration and reduce the amount of stormwater entering the sewer system. This site is highly visible and easily accessible to nearby residential developments, commercial developments, a church, and heavy traffic along the side street. The City of Bowling Green plans to install educational signage that will describe the rain garden design and function to those that are interested. This site can also be used for other methods of public education and outreach such as school group, interest group, or other groups touring the site.
